Sauce - Brandy, Rum, Whiskey

Title: Old-Fashioned Dessert Sauce for Fruit Cake, Bread Pudding etc.

Ingredients

2 eggs
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 T hard spirits such as brandy, rum, or whiskey

 

 


Directions

1. Separate the eggs.
2. Beat the yolks until thick and lemon-colored.
3. Add powdered sugar and mix well.
4. Beat the egg whites until stiff.
5. Fold the stiffly beaten egg whites into the first mixture and blend.
6. Add the spirit.

 

 

 

 

 

Adapted from Kathy’s parents the late Marian and Gerard Linck’s recipes. This was a particular favorite of Gerard Linck’s when served over a slice of yummy homemade fruitcake, also made by Marian Linck.
