Spirit: Walnut Liqueur, Rye Whiskey and Benedictine

Title: Francesca Walnut “Old Fashioned”


1 oz Francesca Walnut Liqueur
1 1/2 oz Rye Whiskey
1/2 oz Benedictine
1/4 oz Vanilla Bean Syrup (see Extra recipe below)
5 dashes Black Walnut Bitters
3 dashes Orange Bitters
Orange peel for garnish

Vanilla Bean Syrup Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 vanilla bean split in half


1. Stir over ice.

2. Strain over fresh ice in a “Rocks Glass”

Optional: add peeled walnuts to drink


To make the Vanilla Bean Syrup add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup of water to a small sauce pot. Add 1 vanilla bean split in half with a knife scraping the beans into the sugar water mixture. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 3-5 minutes. Chill the mixture, bottle and refrigerate.
